Father's Day 2009

For Father's Day we headed out to Northampton to just hang out. We stopped by Fly by Night to test out mattresses. Izzy had fun bouncing on the bare beds. She particularly liked the princess loft beds. I'll have to figure out how to sew up a canopy for her when she graduates to a big-girl bed. We did a little window shopping and finally went for ice cream at Herrell's. Yum!

First Swimming Lesson

We signed Izzy and I up for a YWCA membership so that Izzy could take swim lessons this summer. Their pool is really nice and maybe someday I'll sign up for a fitness plan. Izzy looked adorable in her hot pink bathing cap. I'll have to get a picture next week. We played with toys and sang a bunch of songs and Izzy took a trip down a slide. Izzy had fun watching everybody and kept going after a red ball she particularly liked. She did play with her left ear so we'll keep an eye on that. She sees the ear doctor next week. This was definitely an adventure for me too since I had yet to be in a play group type of environment with mommies I didn't know. And on top of that I had to be in a bathing suit and an oh-so-lovely bathing cap. One lesson learned was to bring a stroller to strap the now-walking Izzy into while I change into dry clothes. Naked baby on the loose!
