Meeting the Doctor

Izzy had her first pediatric check-up on Friday. She weighed in at 5 lb 13 ounces. So she gained a whopping 8 ounces ( a block of cheese!) since leaving the hospital only 5 days before. No shots or blood tests so we were spared that agony. Izzy did get a prescription for vitamins including fluoride which she got later that night and actually liked. She's probably already getting bored with milk, milk, and yet more milk diet. Oh well. She'll get the good stuff soon enough.

The doctor was great. Exactly the personality that Mommy and Daddy could jibe with. She seems to have the do what feels right for the kid kind of attitude and as long as the kid's healthy and we're keeping vigilant, then that's fine with her. She even reminded Mommy that St. Patrick's Day is coming when Mommy remembered that she can have beer again. At the end of the appointment, the doctor proclaimed that Izzy got "her first A+." Um, let's hold off on the grading for now. Though we have to admit to feeling good on that one ;)

Sleepy baby after the indignity of it all!

You gotta "dig" the border in the room :)
