Mae is Five Months Old!

This month Mae has been more assertive of her position as little sis in our family. She insists on joining us for meals and often tries to steal our food though right now she's on a puree-only diet. Mae has become more talkative this month though it's hard to understand her through her thumb. She has learned to yell for attention if she wants to get out of her crib and join whatever party she thinks is going on. She also really enjoys playing with Izzy on the floor though often Izzy learns the hard way not to get too close. Yank!

Her diet now includes 3 whole meals of cereal, fruit and vegetables. Added to her menu are peas, pumpkin, peaches, prunes, green beans and Mum-Mum rice crackers. She really does say "Mum-mum" when she's eating them. Too funny. She does tend to eat a bit fast. Mae gets frantic if that spoon doesn't come quickly enough. I think she may be entering a growth spurt. She's re-instituted nursing before bed and a night-time feeding at around 2am. We've also had to add a bottle of formula for an afternoon snack to get her through to dinner-time. She's still quite little but has been developing an extra chin and has a little more chubbiness in her cheeks :)

Mae loves getting out and about. If she's particularly cranky, as quick trip outside usually calms her right down. Even if it's really chilly. She loves putting on her bunting since that means "Yay! We're going outside!" Even though it covers her hands. Fortunately, her eating schedule has widened and she can eat solids which has freed us to take more field trips. She loved Old Sturbridge Village and going "North" to meet Santa. She loves being carried in her carrier so the stroller has been temporarily decommissioned until she's too heavy for my back to stand.
