To make up for a bad day before, I kept Izzy out of day care to visit Old Sturbridge Village for Veteran's Day. There were musicians and a lot of interpreters in full regalia. We heard a trumpet, a fife, a bass drum, and a bagpiper. We got to ride on both the stage coach and the horse-pulled wagon. It was neat hearing the horse's hooves clip-clop over the covered bridge. Izzy counted 5 sheep out in the pasture but no chickens. Mae had a great time watching all of the people, particularly the blacksmiths. She was totally entranced by the fire and the bellows. Mae stayed awake the whole time we were there. There was just so much to see! Izzy had fun playing in the outside playground. Turns out there are monkey bars in the play-outhouse!
