Mae is Two Weeks Old!

Miss Mae has now been with us at home for over two weeks. She's starting to understand that nighttime is sleeping time. It helps that she's much more awake now during the day. We went to Walmart along with a couple small errands on Monday. she stayed awake the whole time just watching the world go by her little carrier.

She's started following a semblance of a schedule during the day. Feedings are about 3 hours apart starting at around 4am which allows me to plan to do things like laundry and getting out the paper baby announcements (they're coming soon!) Nights are becoming a bit quieter. Earlier this week she averaged 5 hours of sleep for 4 days in a row! Last night we only had 4 hours but still way better than last week or what I would've expected by now especially since she was a nocturnal bugger in the womb.

Izzy has become a bit more protective of her baby sister. This past weekend we went out with Aunty Kate and Izzy freaked out when Kris took Mae out of the car before her, "My Mae! My baby!" Izzy has been teaching Mae various songs and has been a help counting her toes. Izzy's also obsessed with beeping her nose which was the first thing she did upon meeting Mae in the hospital.

Tonight Mae should be getting her first bath since her cord finally fell off yesterday morning. Yay! Sponge baths only get out so much of that newborn gaminess. Mae's also suffering some pretty bad diaper rash (not surprising given our complexion) and maybe a good soak will help with that as well.
